HGV LORRY DRIVER CLASS 1 – LIVE BIRD

Norfolk 

We are seeking for a Class 1 HGV drivers to join our professional and friendly team in our yard in Aslacton, Norwich. You will be reporting directly to the Transport Manager to ensure the smooth day to day operation of the company. Our client is one of the leading transport companies in the UK that’s specialize in Transporting Poultry. Candidates with Animal Transportation Licence not necessary as training will be given. Moffett Licence is desirable (Training will be given).

Job Summary:

Primary Duties:

• Collecting poultry from farms as set out by Transport Manager.
• Always ensuring Security of load and being responsible for bird welfare
• Completing all necessary legal paperwork as required (Animal Transport Certificates, Defect Sheets).
• Communicating effectively with Transport Manager about delays and issues.
• This job involves loading in and out of sheds, so familiarity with this is a bonus.
• Always Practicing good housekeeping and Health and Safety.
• Complying with drivers’ hours regulations.
• Working hours will vary but will mainly be night runs or early morning runs.
• Flexibility is a must as hours will vary depending on requirements.
• Nights out required as per needs of the business.
• Other class 1 duties may be required as per needs of the business
• Flexibility in hours is a must, as the poultry industry is an ever-changing constant, this will include weekend working. Ideal for a driver looking for full or part-time work, as the loads change from week to week.

Requirements:

• 12 Months Class One Driving experience – new passes may be accepted if the right
• candidate
• Live Bird Certification desirable – training will be given if license not already had
• Moffett License desirable – training will be given if license not already had
